Best tourist places to visit in Kashmir in Autumn

The colors of summer growth fade, and the icy breaths of the coming winter are the first to touch the breeze; as Kashmir wraps itself in its autumn-cloak, now being a cozy place reporter by vibrant colors and quite landscapes. The best tourist places to visit in Kashmir in autumn are mentioned below as None other than Kashmir’s autumnal dress, the paradise of unique details meets our sight and we are overwhelmed by the splendid pallet of colors, a long sound of peace on endless granite afternoons.

1. Srinagar

Srinagar, summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, is an anthology of culture, history and scenic beauty. During autumn, no other city can be so captivating as it is depicted by iconic Dal Lake mirroring fiery hues from Chinar trees that define its banks. While sailing across the still waters in a Shikara boat, I was lost in awe as golden red leaves formed a spellbinding picture that reminded me of some artwork or painting. In addition, Mughal gardens which include Nishat Bagh, Shalimar Bagh, and Chashme Shahi are also at their most beautiful during this season. These well-manicured gardens with cascading terraced lawns and colorful foliage are a glimpse into the opulent past of Mughal times.

2. Gulmarg: The Meadow of Flowers

The Meadow of Flowers, Gulmarg, which is famous for its rich grasslands, and winter sports, looks like an amber wonderland in the fall season. The hillsides, which are covered with snow eruptions, are lying in a gentle golden sunset. Riding the Gulmarg gondola, the world’s highest cable car, gave me the opportunity to view spectacular views of the area from the sky. It was the greatest time for either playing golf at the highest green golf course in the world or going for a peaceful trek along the fresh paths due to the cool, clear air and the blue sky.

3. Pahalgam: A Tranquil Retreat

Pahalgam, that has received a major boom in influx of tourists and crowd in Kashmir is mostly a hill station but has some religious significance. It is a lovely place to spend about a day or two while in Srinagar. In autumn, this part of the valley is heavily lined by Chinar and Maple trees their vibrant shades of color further enhancing the serene beauty of the visual-stimulating area. Betaab Valley, a hangout place for love birds in Srinagar, is all the more interesting if you visit the place in the rainy season. The picturesque Lidder Valley is a self-originated place, which attracted the director Raj Kapoor in his movie Sangam. Going on a trek to Aru and Lidderwat is one dynamic way to appreciate the natural assets of the area, the trails route through dark forests and the candid meadows that boast a variety of fall shades.

4. Sonamarg: The Meadow of The Meadow of Gold

The Meadow of Gold, commonly referred to as “Sonamarg,” is a fantastic place nearly a third of which is surrounded by the Himalayas. The name “Meadow of Gold” could not have been more apt in describing Sonamarg as it truly looks like gold in the autumn. Sonmarg’s wonderful meadows and the alpine forests are a mix of gold, red, and orange. I remember the days we used to wander around the meadows in Kashmir; the landscape would be yellow but with the change of the season, nature would be red and the snow-clad meadow would seem petulant when the sun perked up. The rather short, hail-filled journey to the Thajiwas Glacier area opened up the privilege to be the only one in the snowy desert on that frosty morning amidst tranquil yellow trees. The drive to Sonamarg in itself is an amazing experience as the Sind River flows on the side and the great peaks are all covered in autumn colors.

5. Yusmarg: A Peaceful Haven

Yusmarg, the secluded and serene land of the Kashmir Valley, is the best place to unwind away from the mob of tourists. The large meadows, which are scattered with the pine trees, present a spectacle of different colors during autumn. Doodh Ganga River, the quiet river flowing through Yusmarg, further increases the appeal to this place. The time I spent here was very comfortable and enjoyable as I had a picnic by the river while being part of the peace of nature, along with the variation of colorful foliage, which had so vividly covered the terrain.

6. Kupwara: Off the Beaten Path

Among the Indian travelers who do not belong to the mainstream, leisure seekers alone seek to venture off the big track and experience the hidden paradise Kupwara in North Kashmir through the months of autumn. The Lolab Valley, the land of dense forests and stunning sceneries, is a favorite place for the photographers. The valley is an intriguing beauty with colorful shades of red, yellow, and orange, just like a master’s art creation in a blue sky. The stillness in nature experienced in Kupwara, a luxurious organic space, offers the opportunity to feel close to both the powers of nature and simple life, making it a perfect hideaway for nature lovers as well as to adventure lovers.

Dachigam National Park: A Wildlife Haven

Fall (the) dry season is the best season to go to Dachigam National Park, which is the home of the Hangul deer, the endangered species. The park’s varieties of plants and animals that contrast with the numerous colors of the leaves create a very attractive environment. The informative yet concise way in which she tells the park experience through her story of trekking through the park is very descriptive. The amazing ink capture of Hangul deer on a resplendent autumnal backdrop was the most impressive sight of mine in the deer park.
